Ainslie has broad experience and skills in flora and fauna surveys, with a particular interest in reptiles and amphibians.
Ainslie graduated from James Cook University (JCU) in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (Ecology). She has since completed a Graduate Certificate of Research Methods.
Ainslie has extensive practical experience. Since February 2004, Ainslie has been involved in fieldwork at multiple sites, including Paluma, Kirrama Range, Blencoe Falls, Hinchinbrook Island, Tully Gorge, Innisfail, Mt Spurgeon, and sites around Townsville. She is proficient in field sampling collection methods, accurate transcription of scientific data, data interpretation methods, ethical handling of study organisms, and the application of research permits and relevant legislation. Ainslie’s enthusiasm and skills in the field of ecology saw her win a scholarship to attend the 8th Australasian Bryological Conference, where she met national and international experts and used her knowledge of the local flora and fauna to lead survey teams. |
