Environmental Scientist

David completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 and began working at NRA in 2005. He has over six years experience in project management, reporting and field work. His primary duties are focused around licensing and approvals projects in the resources and infrastructure sectors of North Queensland. This includes the preparation of a variety of management documents associated with environmental licensing (eg Environmental Management Plans (EM Plans), Plan of Operations (PoOs), Post Mine Land Use Plans (PMLUPs), Site Based Management Plans and Receiving Environment Monitoring Programs (REMPs)). He has worked on several stages of mine development from exploration and baseline studies through to rehabilitation and closure. His experience has given him exposure to the regulatory processes and project planning associated with resources and infrastructure development sectors.

David has six years experience in assessments of stream health in the ephemeral systems of North Queensland. This work involves aquatic ecology, water quality, sediment quality and habitat assessments. In 2011 David completed formal training through the University of Canberra in Australian River Assessment System (AUSRIVAS), a nationally recognised course in aquatic macroinvertebrate monitoring, and holds Queensland accreditation.

David has completed formal training in Erosion and Sediment Control through the International Erosion Control Association.
David has formal training and over six years professional experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for a range of environmental studies.
