Resource use efficiency is an holistic approach to resource use and environmental management that seeks to identify and implement actions that reduce energy, water and other resource use and to minimise waste.
By focussing on all resource use at the same time, potential conflicts can be identified and actions that will have benefits across more than one resource stream can be taken. Cost savings can be included in payback calculations, often making projects more financially viable.
Over the last 20 years, NRA's directors have worked to promote the effective management of environmental impacts, and develop practices that avoid unnecessary impacts and costly remediation. Our RABSQA - accredited auditing capabilities and expertise have assisted our clients to prevent environmental liabilities and identify opportunities to do things smarter.
NRA has been accepted as an ecoBiz facilitator in the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) signature eco-efficiency program for businesses. The ecoBiz program provides a simple methodology for defining resource costs in terms of units of production. This assists a business to prioritise areas for improvement, and enables accurate calculations of payback periods.
Through the program the EPA also provides rebates to undertake innovative eco-efficient initiatives that will reduce business water and energy consumption, carbon output, and waste generated.
