Environmental Scientist

Stuart’s fields of expertise are taxonomy, field botany and ecology.
He has more than ten years experience conducting environmental assessments, targeted threatened flora surveys, regional ecosystem mapping and validation and revegetation projects throughout Queensland. Stuart has worked for a variety of clients, including government agencies, private developers and the mining industry.

He has a particular interest in tropical rainforest ecology and has undertaken extensive research projects in the tropical rainforests of north Queensland. Stuart is widely published in this field and maintains a strong interest in ecological research.

Stuart provides legislative and environmental management advice, conducts environmental field studies and manages NRA’s aquatic ecology laboratory.

Stuart is a member of a number of environmental organisations and is currently the Secretary of the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre management committee.
