Local Marine Advisory Committee (LMAC)
Voluntary, community-based committees were established in 1999 to enable local communities to have effective input into the management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. NRA Director, Tim Anderson, served on the Cairns LMAC as BRICMA’s representative from 2000-2008 and was elected to represent all the LMACs on a Ministerial Advisory Committee (2005-2007).
