Defence Environment and Heritage Panel 2014 – 2020

NRA provided project management services to Defence NQ from 1996-1999, successfully served on the first Defence Environment and Heritage Panel (DEHP) as a founding partner of a consortium, and provided the role of regional coordinator. NRA was successful in becoming a member of the DEHP (2009-2014) in its own right and as the lead consultant. NRA was appointed to the DEHP (2014-2020) for the following categories:

  • Biodiversity and Landscape Management, Environmental Impact Assessment and Bushfire Preparedness Planning
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Natural Heritage Assessment and Management

Through our longevity of service, accredited quality systems and reputation, NRA has been able to provide Defence a focussed, quality and reliable service.

NRA has extensive and diverse natural heritage experience gained through projects across a variety of development types in north Queensland. The most significant heritage areas in north Queensland are the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics, which are listed as National Heritage places and World Heritage areas. NRA has been involved with numerous projects in or near World Heritage Areas, which have required the assessment of project impacts on Natural Heritage values. Of particular relevance are:

  • Tully Training Area
  • Cowley Beach Training Area
  • Halifax Bay Defence Practice Area
  • Shoalwater Bay Training Area.
