BRICMA was formed in 1994 and uses Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) principles to address catchment issues. NRA Director, Tim Anderson, has held many executive positions on the committee. One of BRICMA’s major achievements has been the planning and initiation of the iconic, community-based, twenty year Green Corridor Project, which will revegetate and remediate approximately 140 kilometres of the Barron River. Tim was awarded a prestigious Wet Tropics Management Authority Cassowary Award in 2007 for his part in the development of this project. He received the ‘Unsung Hero’ award for being “…the visionary behind the Green Corridor Project to rejuvenate the banks of the Barron River. Tim’s volunteer work over ten years as a member of the BRICMA has been vital to the establishment and funding of the Green Corridor Project.”
