About the opportunity

 NRA is seeking an Operations Support Assistant to join our team on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful candidate’s ability to undertake fieldwork components of the role. In this role, you will support our administration/accounts manager, editor, and environmental scientists, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the business.

This position would suit a university student seeking entry-level experience in administration and operations support within a professional environment, with an interest in environmental science and fieldwork.

The role

  • Carry out routine general administration tasks in line with NRA procedures:
    • answering phones
    • travel bookings
    • company agenda
    • supply ordering.
    • project set-up
  • Support Admin/Accounts Manager eg:
    • data entry in MYOB and project management software (Synergy).
    • assist with the maintenance of software and file systems
  • Support company editor:
    • word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing.
    • assist with the maintenance of company’s Integrated Management System (QA, EMS, OH&S).
    • assist with the maintenance of NRA’s library.
  • Support environmental scientists
    • assist with preparing proposal.
    • assist with quality assurance checks.
    • maintain field equipment.
    • assist with fieldwork, including preparation for fieldwork

About you

  • you have demonstrated experience in an administrative or operations support role.
  • you are proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to quickly learn systems such as MYOB and Synergy
  • you have strong communication skills and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • you possess excellent organisational, time management, and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • you are comfortable working autonomously and using sound judgement to make decisions.
  • you are self-motivated, logical, and have strong attention to detail.
  • you are able to multi-task and adapt to changing demands in a dynamic work environment.
  • you have the right to permanently live and work in Australia
